About this place
Each order of fresh pancakes at NP is poured onto the griddle only after you ask for it, arriving at the table noticeably thick yet meltingly airy. The 15 to 20 minutes spent waiting for them to puff up adds to the sense of an afternoon treat. On top, a star-shaped pat of salted butter slowly softens across the warm surface, cutting the gentle sweetness of the batter with a pleasant richness. Portions come as a stack of 2 or 3, and because the crumb is so featherweight, you can finish either without feeling weighed down.
The plain batter is satisfying on its own, but customizable toppings let you build your own plate: bright berry coulis, light whipped cream, or cold ice cream to contrast with the warm cake. Drinks match that playful variety, ranging from mellow café lattes to a coffee shake balancing bitterness and sweetness, alongside refreshing, fruit-forward banana juice.
The glass counter up front holds an inviting lineup of baked goods as well. Scones come in assorted flavours, from chocolate-studded wedges to a savoury-leaning rosemary and black pepper, fitting equally well as a quick snack or a light breakfast. With around 3 tables, the compact interior stays quiet and unhurried; you can linger over warm pancakes on site, or take home pancake sandwiches and baked treats for later.
